JERICHO IRON CLASSIC - May 26 & 27, 2012
Welcome to the 20th Annual Jericho Iron Classic.
It's hard to believe it's been 20 years!! We look forward to lots of paddlers, lots of prizes, great food and fantastic racing.
In honour of the 20th anniversary race, race fees are set to match the anniversary. $20 per paddler, if your crew submits your intent to race by May 18th!

Also, join us Sunday the small boat races - OC1, OC2, Surfski, SUP. Both races are part of the CORA Canadian Race series.

On-site Registration: Saturday May 26th 8:00am - 10:30am at the Jericho Sailing Centre
Registration Fee: $120.00CDN/US per crew ($20 per paddler) if registered by May 18. Late registration (May 19 to race day) is $150.00CDN/US per crew ($25 per paddler). We need your early registration to have the right amount of food and prizes!
Race Registration Form and Waivers
Note: All participants sign the race waiver. CORA membership will be verified. Non-CORA members must pay an the $10 day fee and complete the CORA one-day waiver in order to enter the race.
Race Times: Novice/Short Course OC6 - 9:30 am
Women's OC6 - 11:00 am
Men's and Mixed OC6 - 1:00 pm
Race Course: Full Course approximately 15km, Novice/Junior Course - 6-8 km. Actual course to be determined on race day pending wind and tide conditions. Course will be defined at the pre-race steers meeting.
Spare Canoes: We may not have any spare OC6's available for this race. If you need to borrow a boat, we suggest that you post a message on the CORA Message Boards. The CORA web site also has a list of clubs with contact names. Just look for the Clubs under the CORA link at the top of each page.
Tides: High tide: 8:33am, 11.5 ft.
Low tide: approx. 3:37pm, 4.3 ft.
Safety: 6 functioning PFD's per boat. This race can be in big water - spray skirts are highly recommended. We don't have any spare spray skirts so if you are bringing your own boats, bring the skirts!

Lunch and Awards: Lunch will be served ASAP following the women's race and again, the men's race with awards to follow. Friends of racers - $10 per person for lunch

2012 OC1/2/Surfski Challenge - Sunday, May 27
Location: Jericho Sailing Centre, Vancouver, BC Canada
Registration: Sunday, May 27, 9:00 am at the Jericho Sailing Centre
Registration Fee: $10.00 Cdn/US per paddler
We don't have any spare OC1's available for this race. If you need to borrow a boat, we recommend posting a message on the CORA Message Boards.
Race Times: Note: IF there is sufficient interest, we will hold a Short Course / Junior / Novice - race, to start at 9:30. TBD
Long course - All paddlers - men, women, mixed - race start at 11:00 am
Race Course: To be confirmed, short course 5 - 8km. and long course 10 - 12km.
Paddlers must have pfd on canoe.
Tides: High Tide: 9:39am, 10.8 ft.
Low tide: 4:22pm, 4.9 ft.
