JERICHO IRON CLASSIC - May 24 & 25, 2014
Welcome to the 22nd Annual Jericho Iron Classic.
We look forward to lots of paddlers, lots of prizes, great food and fantastic racing.

Also, join us Sunday the small boat races - OC1, OC2, Surfski, SUP.

On-site Registration: Saturday May 24th 8:00am - 10:30am at the Jericho Sailing Centre
Registration Fee: We need your early registration to have the right amount of food and prizes!
As above, submit your intent to race ASAP. Race fees can be submitted on race day.

$180.00 CDN/US per crew ($30 per paddler) if registered by May 17.
Late registration (May 18 to race day) is $210.00 CDN/US per crew ($35 per paddler).

$90.00 CDN/US per Junior crew ($15 per paddler) if registered by May 17.
Late registration (May 18 to race day) is $120.00 CDN/US per Junior crew ($20 per paddler).
Race Registration Form and Waivers

Note: All participants sign the race waiver. CORA membership will be verified. Non-CORA members must pay the $10 day fee ($5 for Juniors) and complete the CORA one-day waiver in order to enter the race.

Race Times: Novice/Short Course OC6 - 9:30 am
Women's OC6 - 11:00 am
Men's and Mixed OC6 - 1:00 pm

Note: The short course will be run ONLY there is sufficient interest (at least 5 crews). Please let us know ASAP if you plan to participate in this distance.

Race Course: Full Course approx. 15km-18km, Short Course - approx. 8 km. Actual race courses to be determined on race day pending wind and tide conditions. Course will be defined at the pre-race steers meeting.
Lunch and Awards: We are looking forward to lunch this year, catered by Kimberley (A Pinch of Salt) who did such an amazing job at last year's Classic! Lunch will be served ASAP following the women's race and again after the men's race with awards to follow. Friends of racers - $10 per person for lunch
Spare Canoes: We may not have any spare OC6's available for this race. If you need to borrow a boat, we suggest that you post a message on the CORA Message Boards. The CORA web site also has a list of clubs with contact names. Just look for the Clubs under the CORA link at the top of each page.
Safety: 6 functioning PFD's per boat. This race can be in big water - spray skirts are highly recommended. We don't have any spare spray skirts so if you are bringing your own boats, bring the skirts!
Tides: Low tide: 9:31 am, 1.56 M/5.1 ft.
High tide: approx. 4:04 pm, 3.86 M/12.7 ft.
Parking: Pay Parking is in effect! $3 per hour or $10 for the day. There is free parking out on NW Marine Drive but then you have a couple of blocks to walk to the Sailing Centre.

2014 OC1/2/Surfski/SUP Challenge - Sunday, May 25
Location: Jericho Sailing Centre, Vancouver, BC Canada
Registration: Sunday, May 25, 9:00 am at the Jericho Sailing Centre
Registration Fee: $15.00 Cdn/US per paddler ~ $10 Junior (under 19)
We don't have any spare OC1's available for this race. If you need to borrow a boat, we recommend posting a message on the CORA Message Boards.
Race Times: All paddlers - men, women, mixed - race start at 11:00 am
Race Course: To be confirmed, pending conditions: 10 - 12km.
Paddlers must have pfd on canoe.
Tides: Low Tide: 10:15am, 1.24/4 ft.
High tide: 5:11pm, 4.15 M/13.7 ft.
